Everything About iOS 14

You just heard about the new iPhone 12 coming out, right after the new iPhone SE which was right after the new iPhone 11. All of this is along with the new iOS 14. The slick, brand new UI with new features. You’ve heard it’s good but what is it exactly? That’s exactly what we are answering today.

Greetings!

Greetings, today we will answer the question of what iOS 14 is. You’ve probably had many people say it’s good but when you ask why they can’t give a better answer other than then the fact that it is just good. Today we will answer in depth what it is. First lets start with what iOS itself it,  IOS, Apples Operating System is specifically designed only for apple devices, specifically the iPhone and iPod Touch. The iPad’s OS is pretty much the same as it only has a few changes to allow it to be convenient for the iPad, so in our video we are going to refer them all to iOS.

iOS

The Beloved iOS, known for the very simple atmosphere and their interconnecting devices makes it very convenient to connect to all your apple devices such as your iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch, and others. Because all these devices are made from ONLY Apple this makes it very easy to connect to their devices. This is like Huawei’s Upcoming Harmony OS (video coming soon).

Apple just recently released their iOS 14 with new features such as the already beloved built in language translator, but it also came out with a better 3D Siri Icon and most specifically, widgets. iOS allows you to know have widgets on your hope screen, much like the widgets on Android devices or on the far-left screen on your older iPhones. With these widgets they allowed them to be for almost all preloaded apps that you have. You can also now resize the widgets to fit your screen in your own personality. Making the old, unpersonalizable iOS into a personalizable OS. Now their app store can feature widgets suggesting the best widgets for to make your life even more simple, with the widgets, some widgets, specifically the Siri widget allows you to be able to do tasks without even launching the app(s).

App Library, Interface, and Video in Video Feature

Additionally apple added their App Library where you can now see all your apps in a really simple view but you can also see suggested apps, the library also allows you to hide home screen pages and helping your apps instantly organize themselves at the moment they are installed.

With the help of the new iOS version they are able to compact the User Interface so that phone calls/facetime calls/Siri notifications will now only be a small notification banner so that you can easily answer or decline without losing track of what you are doing.

Almost like Android’s YT feature of being able to watch the video while you are in another app, iOS allows you to be watching a video or be in a facetime call so that you can still be productive while talking or watching. Additionally, they allow you to move this picture in picture feature to whatever corner of the screen that you would like. You can also minimize the call or video while still being able to hear the audio and having full control of your screen, you can also resize the picture in picture frame. This is very similar to Samsung’s easy window in window and split screen features that they have had for years…wonder where Apple got that one from…

iOS’s search has always been very blocky and very inconvenient at times, making the feature practically useless. Now they have made it so that the moment you start typing in the search you get your widget/notification type results instantly allowing you to quickly launch whatever you need whenever you need it.

iMessages

Apples beloved iMessages just got better, again. Now you can pin your favorite conversations and be able to access them the moment you open the app. You can now direct what would be a group message to an individual and you can customize them to look differently so you know if they are group or individual messages. Along with this you can reply to individual messages and you can now set a group photo, memoji or emoji for all the members of the group, this is quite like Google’s Hangouts setup.

Speaking of Memoji Apple just allowed for new Hairstyles, new Headwear styles, More Age options, more stickers more shades of color and most importantly FACEMASKS. This allows you to even more express yourself with messages because you should be social distancing.

Maps

Apple Maps, literally known at one point as THE WORST MAP system is now finally getting better they now have added the cycling support, this is great for fellow bikes because now you can see your map on your wrist with your Apple Watch or you can view bike routes directly from the maps app now. Apple now has added recommendations from REAL guides instead of just using reviews from the maps now you can get real input that is personalized for you.

Along with Apple maps you can now pair your Electric Vehicle such as a Tesla to your Phone so that now you can charge your phone, and can make the fastest route for your vehicle taking in account how much battery you have left and giving you the best places to stop and charge your vehicle. Extra features are speed cameras, which google has had for years, once again…wonder where apple got that from. Now you can know where a speed camera is and now you can easily access GPS signals even if you are in poor GPS areas. You can also route around places that have a lot of traffic helping you achieve the faster route possible.

Translation Features

Going back to the translate features from earlier you can now have what is called conversation mode where you can simple turn your screen to landscape mode to show both sides of conversation so you can easily talk to people of other languages. Along with this you get more languages added with keyboards for more languages. You can also download languages so that you can access them offline…. once again, very similar to another app…***show hint of google translate***

Nowadays its very common to see houses that are now easily controllable from your phone or Bluetooth devices. Now with Apple Home you can control your home even easier with the press of one button from Control Center. You can also have room lights be changed through the day to best fit your comfort. With this control now you can have face recognition for your cameras, so you know who is at your door and when.

Safari and Siri

Safari, also known as a very inconvenient browse is finally getting better. Much like Chromes Google Translate Web Pages now you can instantly translate entire webpages into select languages. You now get tracking prevention that is even more effective allowing for more privacy. Now Safari will monitor your passwords and will alert you if you password was exposed. And most importantly safari is now even faster than before.

Siri, known for getting dumber and dumber finally made a step so that now you can find answers to questions without having to search the web, now has more facts in its database, now you can send Audio Messages via Siri and ask for cycling directions and now there are more languages for siri and now you can share your location with others through siri.

Apple Car

With the advancements of NFC you can now easily unlock your car, you can also start your car. You can also share your “keys” with other contacts so that that they can also unlock your car and start your car. You can even restrict your car so that they can’t accelerate to fast or go to fast. You can even control the stereo. This is advertised for parents who are helping teens to drive. You can even use your phone to unlock and start your car when your phone is very low at battery this is perfect if you leave your actual car keys at home.

Just like the car keys you can do more with your car, now you can order food, change backgrounds and share with Siri with CarPlay.

Airpods/Bluetooth

Airpods, the king of BlueTooth headphones. Now allows for device switching automatically, now you can get your Airpods, iPhone and iPad and be able to listen to either one automatically. Now by adding what is called “Headphone Accommodations” they make it so that soft sounds, like quiet people in a phone call are more easily hearable as well as adding some more noise canceling technology. With the AirPods pro you can now use sensors to know when an how the airpods of moving for your apps to have deeper analytics.

Privacy

Privacy is a very big thing for apple, your privacy is prioritized over almost everything else. Now you can change how your locations is connected, you can now even more easily tell if an app is using a camera or microphone either in the app or control center. You can now also change what photos an app can access instead of all your photos and now apps can use your apple ID to be signed in so that you still have the privacy policies from apple themselves.

App Clips/Google Copy?

For the last main thing we are talking about we will talk about App Clips, this is a way that you can test and app without fully installing them. Think of this as temporary apps. This allows you to try something via a link or in the app store itself and then when you exit, its gone, its that simple. Google Play also has features like this.
